By Double Pen  No fewer than 400 residents of Ngbilebiri II Ward 8 in Burutu Local Government Area of Delta State have benefited from an empowerment initiative facilitated by their elected councillors to support small-scale businesses and assist vulnerable members of the community. Each beneficiary received N50,000 under the scheme, facilitated by the two councillors representing the ward, Hon. Kpemusiobe Adama and Hon. Clement Wagha. By Double Pen  The Delta State Police Command has arrested three suspected cultists and criminals in separate operations in Agbarho and Oghara, recovering six firearms, four live cartridges and 10 expended cartridges. The police also recovered a battle axe, a jackknife and other incriminating items during the operations. The Police Public Relations Officer, SP Bright Edafe, disclosed this in a statement issued on Friday. Edafe said operatives of the Command Anti-Cultism Unit, Sector 3, Ovwian-Aladja, arrested a 34-year-old suspect, Akpoghene Goodluck, along the Agbarho-Warri Expressway on November 4. He said the suspect was arrested after allegedly attempting to evade police operatives during a patrol. A search of the premises where he was apprehended reportedly led to the recovery of two locally made guns and 10 expended cartridges. The committee, chaired by Edward Ogude, is expected to identify and reach out to candidates contesting for the governorship, senatorial, House of Representatives and Delta State House of Assembly seats, particularly those of Delta State origin. Other members are Godfrey Ubaka, Mercy Muemuifo, Andy Emephia, Emmanuel Enebeli, Shedrack Onitsha, Stephanie Ikanone-Odiete, Barth Ozah, Theophilus Onojeghen and Patrick Ochei.
