The Executive Chairman of Ughelli North Local Government Council, Olorogun Jaro Movudu Egbo, KSC, has taken the council’s grassroots empowerment programme to Orogun Ward 1, where he called on residents to support the development programmes of the Federal, Delta State and Local Governments.

Egbo made the call during the continuation of the council’s ward-by-ward empowerment programme, organised by the ward councillor, Hon. Joseph Obara.

The initiative targets 200 constituents in each DSIEC ward across Ughelli North Local Government Area, with beneficiaries receiving micro-grants, starter packs and capacity-building support.

Speaking at the event, Egbo said the programme was designed to complement President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda and Governor Sheriff Oborevwori’s MORE Agenda by improving livelihoods and creating greater economic opportunities at the grassroots.

He stressed the importance of effective collaboration among the Federal, State and Local Governments, saying sustained coordination was necessary to ensure that development programmes delivered meaningful benefits to communities.

The council chairman also urged residents to support continuity in government programmes and called for support for President Tinubu, Governor Oborevwori and other APC candidates ahead of the 2027 general elections.

Speaking at the event, Hon. Joseph Obara commended Egbo for his commitment to grassroots empowerment and development.

Obara also praised the council chairman’s collaboration with the administration of Governor Oborevwori, noting that the partnership had contributed to the implementation of development initiatives across Ughelli North.

He said Orogun Ward 1 remained committed to mobilising support for President Tinubu, Governor Oborevwori and other APC candidates in the 2027 general elections.

Community leaders and beneficiaries expressed appreciation for the empowerment initiative, saying the support would help strengthen small businesses, assist artisans and improve the economic wellbeing of vulnerable members of the community.

The Orogun Ward 1 exercise is part of the Ughelli North Local Government Council’s broader empowerment programme aimed at extending economic assistance and grassroots development interventions to constituents across all DSIEC wards in the local government area.
