EGBO BROKERS PEACE IN EKREDJEBO YOUTH LEADERSHIP CRISIS, PROMISES FREE, FAIR AND CREDIBLE ELECTION

By Admin

The Executive Chairman of Ughelli North Local Government Council, Olorogun Jaro Movudu Egbo, KSC, has brokered a peace agreement between rival factions in the Ekredjebo Community Youth body, ending a prolonged leadership crisis and paving the way for a fresh, transparent and credible election.

Egbo’s intervention on Tuesday, September 15, 2026, came after the leadership dispute had deepened divisions among the youths, heightened tension and raised concerns about the peace and stability of the community.

Following extensive consultations with the contending factions and a careful consideration of their grievances, the Chairman facilitated an agreed formula for sharing leadership positions, which was accepted by all parties and immediately brought the leadership impasse to an end.

With the peace agreement secured, Egbo announced that a date would be fixed for a properly organised youth election and pledged that the process would be inclusive, free from intimidation and credible enough to reflect the genuine wishes of the youths of Ekredjebo.
