SDU Appreciates Gov Oborevwori over Donation of two brand new Buses, says Gesture laudable for Education and institution's Development

Southern Delta University ( SDU), Ozoro , has commended Governor Sheriff Oborevwori, for the provision of two brand new buses , a 32-seater Coaster , as well as an 18-seater bus, to the University's Orerokpe Campus in Okpe local government area .

The buses were presented on Wednesday, 12 August 2026, on behalf of the Executive Governor , by the Honourable Commissioner for Higher Education, Prof. Nyerowho Tonukari, and received by the Provost, Orerokpe Campus Prof. 
Akpovughaye Taiga on behalf of the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Sunny Awhefeada.

The Vice-Chancellor, Management, staff, students and the entire University community warmly appreciate Governor Oborevwori for this laudable intervention, which reflects his administration’s commitment to the MORE Agenda, particularly in education, infrastructure and staff welfare.

The University noted that the gesture will significantly enhance mobility and operational efficiency while supporting SDU’s vision of becoming a distinctive and globally competitive institution.

DOU to graduate 416 students, records 25 first class , set for maiden convocation

By Andy Emephia A total of 416 candidates drawn from 28 programmes in the Faculties of Agriculture , Arts , Behavioural Sciences, Computing , Environmental Sciences , Management Sciences and Sciences, will participate in the maiden convocation of the Dennis Osadebay University ( DOU) , Asaba , on Saturday 7th March , 2026. Of this number , 25 persons bagged First Class Honours , 167 Second Class Honours ( Upper Division), 185 Second Class Lower Division, and 39 Third Class Degrees, respectively  .
