Police Intensify Visibility Policing, Impound 31 Vehicles in Agbor

The Delta State Police Command has intensified its statewide visibility policing and enforcement operations, leading to the impoundment of 31 vehicles for various traffic and vehicle registration offences during a coordinated crime prevention patrol in Agbor.

The Police Public Relations Officer, SP Bright Edafe disclosed this in a press statement on Saturday in Asaba, Delta State Capital.

SP Edafe said "the operation, carried out on Friday, July 3, 2026, was led by the Deputy Commissioner of Police in charge of the Department of Operations (DOPS). It covered the Agbor metropolis, major highways, entry and exit points, as well as border communities between Delta and Edo states."

According to him, "the exercise was aimed at strengthening police presence, deterring criminal activities, enforcing compliance with traffic and vehicle registration laws, and denying criminal elements the opportunity to operate."

He added that "during the operation, police impounded 31 vehicles for offences including failure to display registration number plates, obscured or covered number plates, expired vehicle particulars, and other traffic-related violations. The Command said the affected vehicles would be charged before a court of competent jurisdiction."

He noted that the Commissioner of Police, Delta State Command, CP Yemi Oyeniyi, reaffirmed the Command's commitment to sustaining intelligence-led policing and strategic enforcement operations across the state.

He urged motorists to comply with all traffic and vehicle registration requirements, stressing that strict enforcement is essential to public safety, effective crime prevention, and the maintenance of law and order.
