Oborevwori Appointments Aim to Strengthen Youth Development — Angele

The Delta State Commissioner for Housing and Youth Development, Hon. Godknows Angele, has said Governor Sheriff Oborevwori's appointments are aimed at strengthening youth development across the state.

Hon. Angele disclosed this in an interview, describing the appointments of the new appointees as a strategic move to fill vacancies created by officials who emerged victorious in party primaries and to ensure balanced representation across the state.

Angele noted that the appointments were in line with the governor's commitment to inclusive governance and effective administration.

He said several government positions became vacant after appointees secured nominations during party primaries, making it necessary for the government to appoint qualified replacements.

According to him, "Governor Sheriff Oborevwori is a listening leader who understands the needs of the people of Delta State. Those who contested and won the primaries created vacancies, and government has a responsibility to fill those positions so that governance continues without interruption."

He further explained that the same principle informed appointments into boards and commissions, including the Delta State Judicial Service Commission, where new members were appointed to replace those who had moved on to other responsibilities.

"So, those appointments reflected the Oborevwori administration's commitment to the equitable distribution of opportunities among the state's senatorial districts and local government areas."

He, however, congratulated the newly appointed members of the Delta State Judicial Service Commission, whom he described as a former Supervisor for Works and Chairman of the Angele Foundation, saying the appointment was well deserved.

Hon. Angele also thanked the state governor and described him as youth-friendly, saying the governor is preparing a series of empowerment programmes aimed at equipping young people with sustainable skills.

According to him, "The administration's approach is to provide practical training and opportunities that will enable youths to become self-reliant.

"Investing in young people remains a priority because they constitute a significant percentage of the state's population and play a critical role in its development."

He also assured residents of riverine communities that the Oborevwori administration remains committed to extending development projects and government programmes to all parts of the state.

He urged Deltans to continue supporting the administration, expressing confidence that the governor's policies would deliver greater opportunities for youths, women, and other segments of the population.
