Able Mabel Initiative Concludes Two-Day INEC Voter Registration Sensitization in Amai

The Able Mabel Initiative, a grassroots civic platform supporting the House of Representatives aspiration of Hon. Dr. Mabel Ebele Magbulu, the African Democratic Congress (ADC) candidate for the Ndokwa/Ukwuani Federal Constituency, has concluded a two-day voter sensitization campaign in Amai Kingdom, Ukwuani Local Government Area of Delta State.

The sensitization exercise, held on July 23 and 24, 2027, was aimed at encouraging eligible residents to participate in the ongoing Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) Continuous Voter Registration (CVR) exercise ahead of the 2027 general elections.

During the campaign, volunteers of the Initiative engaged community members on the importance of voter registration and civic participation. They also mobilized first-time voters, assisted individuals seeking replacement of lost or damaged Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs), and encouraged eligible voters to transfer their registration to their current polling units where necessary.

The exercise recorded a significant turnout, with many eligible residents taking advantage of the exercise to register, replace lost PVCs, and update their voter records.

Residents of Amai commended the Initiative for promoting voter education and democratic participation, describing the sensitization campaign as timely and impactful. Many also expressed pride that Hon. Dr. Mabel Ebele Magbulu, a daughter of the community, is the first woman from Amai to contest for the House of Representatives, describing her candidacy as a historic milestone for the kingdom.

Some residents expressed optimism that her emergence offers an opportunity for more inclusive, visionary and effective representation of the Ndokwa/Ukwuani Federal Constituency in the National Assembly.

Speaking at the conclusion of the exercise, the Able Mabel Initiative reaffirmed its commitment to grassroots engagement, voter education and democratic participation. The Initiative stressed that sustainable development begins with active citizen involvement in the electoral process and urged eligible voters across the constituency to obtain valid PVCs ahead of the elections.

It also reminded residents that meaningful political change can only be achieved through active participation in the electoral process, emphasizing that every vote counts.

As political activities gradually gather momentum ahead of the 2027 general elections, the Initiative said increasing voter participation would remain one of its key priorities while continuing to advocate responsible leadership and people-centred representation.
