The African Action Congress ( AAC) Governorship Candidate in Delta State , Engr. Issac Eshor , has described the revocation of the bail application and subsequent remand, in prison custody , of the AAC's Presidential Candidate , Omoyele Sowore, as an act of political vendetta .
Eshor also decried the use of court processes to silence voices opposed to the current harsh economic and lingering security challenges being encountered by the mass of citizens .
In a statement issued in Warri, the Delta AAC Governorship candidate stated that the continuous hounding of opposition politicians by the present administration , using security agencies and the courts , is a negative impression on democratic rule and the right to pursue activism .
Eshor wondered why Sowore, an accomplished social activist and crusader for the betterment of the country , was always the target of the security agencies and the courts , through technicalities , to deny him the right to his freedom .
He described the AAC Presidential Candidate as a fearless and focused advocate for equity and fairness for all Nigerians , adding that Sowore would come out of his current travails more resolute abd determined to advance the cause of a better Nigeria .
The Delta AAC Governorship Candidate said he and party faithful in the State , are solidly behind their Presidential Candidate , and will continue to support his ideals no matter the level of intimidation by agencies of state to silence the opposition
It will be recalled that a Federal High Court , sitting in the Federal Capital Territory ( FCT) Abuja, had revoked the bail application by Sowore's legal team and ordered his remand at the kuje Correctional centre, pending the hearing of his bail application in court .
