The Actors Guild of Nigeria (AGN) has elected Prince Kelvin Uvo Oghogho as the new Chairman to pilot the affairs of Nollywood actors in the Delta State chapter for a period of three years.

The new executive council, led by Prince Kelvin Uvo Oghogho as Chairman, was sworn in at the weekend by Barrister Daniel Otutu, Legal Adviser to the Actors Guild of Nigeria, shortly after a keenly contested election held in Asaba, the Delta State capital.

In his acceptance speech, the newly sworn-in Chairman, Prince Kelvin Uvo Oghogho, pledged to promote unity among members, prioritize their welfare, and uphold transparency, accountability, and professionalism throughout his tenure. He also appealed to his former opponents to join hands with the new executive in building a stronger and more united Actors Guild in Delta State.

Earlier, the Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Actors Guild of Nigeria, Mr. Emmanuel Ogugua, who supervised the electoral process, declared Prince Kelvin Uvo Oghogho winner of the chairmanship election after polling 362 votes to defeat his only challenger, Tessy Umokoro, who scored 75 votes.

Other members of the newly inaugurated executive council are Ovo Gabriels, Vice Chairman; Erasmus Ugbome, Secretary; Edafe Bobolo, Financial Secretary; Marvelous Onyeamachi, Public Relations Officer; BB Nation, Treasurer; Helen Edjeba, Assistant Secretary; and Tony White Okoli, Chief Whip.

The electoral process was monitored by representatives of the Federal Ministry of Labour and Employment of Nigeria.
