Otumara: An lroko has left Warri South, Delta, laments Omimi

A Chieftain of the All Progressives Congress ( APC) in Warri South , and Executive Assistant to Governor Sheriff Oborevwori on Special Duties, Omimi Esquire, has described the passage of three-tine Chairman of Warri South Local Government , Commissioner for Special Duties, Housing and Health , Dr Joseph Sisanmi Otumara, as a collosal loss , akin to the fall of an lroko tree, not only to the people of Warri South , the ltsekiri nation, but also to the entire Delta State.

Omimi, also a one-time Political Adviser to former Governor Ifeanyi Arthur Okowa, said the demise of Otumara , who until his passage on Friday , June 12, 2026, at age 65, was the Board Chairman of the Warri, Uvwie, and Environs Development Agency ( WUEDA), has robbed the entire State, of an accomplished public servant , astute administrator and medical practitioner.

In his condolence message , he noted that late Otumara, the Obarisiuwa of Warri kingdom and revered APC leader of Warri South , has impacted positively in the development of Delta State , from his enviable public service records.

Describing the deceased as a statesman , accomplished medical doctor and community leader imbued with a strong commitment to the welfare of the people and service to humanity , the Executive Assistant on Special Duties to Governor Oborevwori said all Otumara's life was lived with diligence and integrity .

As a leader , Omimi said, Otumara will be remembered for his impactful leadership and mentorship of countless people from all walks of life , from politics , health care delivery , community development and family .

Said Omimi:"The sudden departure of my leader and mentor , Osuo Lele , Dr ( Chief) Joseph Sisanmi Otumara, the Obarisiuwa of Itsekiri kingdom , came as a rude shock. His passage is akin to that of an lroko tree, which has given countless number of people , refuge from the storms. The void left by this great man of honour will be difficult to fill in Delta South and the State as a whole. But l am consoled that he lived an impactful life of service, integrity , and unblemished passion for his various callings. Otumara was a great man . His memories will continue to inspire us his political children and genearations to come".

Omimi therefore extended his heartfelt condolences to the Otumara family , the Itsekiri nation, APC Delta State as well as the government and people of the state , on the irreparable loss, while praying for eternal rest for the soul of the departed statesman .
