June 12 Democracy Day Celebration: Andaye Assures Bomadi People of Inclusive Governance

The Executive Chairman of Bomadi Local Government Council, Hon Dagidi Rawlings Andaye, has assured the people of the area of his administration's resolve to enhance its inclusive governance strides by spreading dividends of democracy across all the communities of Bomadi

He therefore reaffirmed his resolve to ensure the improvement of the living standards of the people of Bomadi by strengthening the democratic institutions in the local government and ensuring that the welfare and security of citizens is paramount .

In his congratulatory message to the people of Bomadi Local Government Area to mark the 2026 Democracy Day Celebrations, , Hon Andaye noted that the event epitomizes the grit and sacrifice of pro-democracy activists in entrenching good governance and democratic ideals for the betterment of citizens.

According to the Bomadi Council Boss , the labour of those who sacrificed their lives in the quest for justice, fairness and equity which democracy symbolizes , will not be in vain.

He charged the people of the local government area to at all times respect constituted authority and pursue a collective vision of progress and unity , assuring that his administration's policies are firmly rooted in respect for human dignity in all ramifications .

While commending the reforms under the Renewed Hope Agenda of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Andaye lauded Governor Sheriff Oborevwori for not only translating his MORE Agenda into unprecedented transformation in all facets of development , infrastructural y abd human capital wise, but also ensuring a level playing field for local government administration's to impact on their various communities through embarking on people centred projects as well as other interventions tbst directly touch the lives of the people at the third tier of government .

Overall, Hon Andaye praised the people for remaining law abiding , despite the prevalence of security challenges and economic hardship nationwide , stating that their endurance symbolizes abiding faith in the democratic system of governance which he emphasized to be the best form , despite the current challenges .

While wishing the people of Bomadi a happy Democracy Day Celebration, the Council Boss prayed for a better and more prosperous time ahead , as the 2027 general elections approach , urging citizens of voting age to avail themselves of the current voter registration exercise and obtain their Permanent Voters Cards ( PVCs) in order to exercise their franchise .

DOU to graduate 416 students, records 25 first class , set for maiden convocation

By Andy Emephia A total of 416 candidates drawn from 28 programmes in the Faculties of Agriculture , Arts , Behavioural Sciences, Computing , Environmental Sciences , Management Sciences and Sciences, will participate in the maiden convocation of the Dennis Osadebay University ( DOU) , Asaba , on Saturday 7th March , 2026. Of this number , 25 persons bagged First Class Honours , 167 Second Class Honours ( Upper Division), 185 Second Class Lower Division, and 39 Third Class Degrees, respectively  .
