Bomadi Council Chairman, Andaye, Refutes Billboards Pulldown Allegation by Delta PDP, says Allegations Tissue of lies, Laughable

The attention of the Executive Chairman of Bomadi Local Government Council, Hon Dagidi Rawlings Andaye , has been drawn to the above subject matter of alleged destruction of PDP BILLBOARDS of its candidates by the Executive Chairman

Before responding to the outrightly false, misleading and spurious allegations as authored by one Chief Kingsley Akpos Oturubo , who describes himself as "Publicity Secretary , PDP, Delta State Chapter", it would be trite to draw the attention of the general public , to the following government special announcement ,

DTSG ORDERS STRICT ENFORCEMENT OF OUTDOOR ADVERTISING LAWS IN DELTA 

The Governor of Delta State, Rt Hon Sheriff Oborevwori has directed the Delta State Signage and Advertisement Agency(DESSAA) to fully implement all laws that regulate outdoor advertising practice in the state.

According to a statement signed by the Secretary to the State Government(SSG) Dr.Kingsley Eze Emu, this is in line with extant laws mandating the Delta State Signage And Advertisement Agency(DESSAA) to regulate and sanitize outdoor advertising practice across the state.

The statement listed the measures put in place to regulate outdoor advertising as follows:

* Operation Tag Your Boards. All billboard structures must henceforth carry the emblem /company name of the owner/practitioner to whom they belong;

* All practitioners are requested to submit their ARCON Certificates at DESSAA’s Director of Administration’s Office;and

 • Submit their site(s) list and approvals duly obtained and authorized by DESSAA.

Operators of these outdoor advertising agencies should therefore ensure that all these measures are put in place within the next seven(7) days from the release of this notice. 

The SSG stated that these measures have become urgent and expedient to elevate the practice of outdoor advertising and ensure it is no longer a free-for-all business. The measures will also help to improve the overall aesthetics of the signage landscape in major cities and towns of the state, thereby eliminating the nuisance effects of clustering of billboards and the associated environmental hazards.

 

He warned that all cases of non-compliance at the expiration of the stipulated timeline will be treated as gross defiance, in which case, the appropriate sanctions shall be applied.

From the above which is as clear as crystal and unambiguous , it is obvious that the allegation by the Delta State PDP chapter Publicity Secretary , is a misplaced one .

Firstly , the Executive Chairman of Bomadi local government Council, Hon Dagidi Rawlings Andaye , his management and staff , are not the Delta State Signage and Advertisement Agency ( DESAA) , directed by the Governor of Delta State , His Excellency , Rt Hon Sheriff Oborevwori, to fully implement all laws that regulate outdoor advertising practice in the state , Bomadi Local Government Area inclusive .

In the light of this incontrovertible fact , it's obvious that the spurious allegations , libelous to the bargain, against Hon Andaye , with clear diatribes on his person and office , is laughable , comical , and of no import.

The allusion by the Delta PDP Publicity Secretary , Chief Akpos Kingsley Oturubo , that the Executive Chairman of Bomadi Local Government Council, Hon Dagidi Rawlings Andaye, "is claiming that he was directed by the Governor of Delta State to pull down posters and billboards of opposition political parties", is not only spurious and laughable , but clearly an insult on the office and person of the Executive Governor , who is a democrat to the core and too occupied with the business of governance of the state , to engage in inane drivels as shamelessly espoused by the Publicity Secretary of the PDP Delta chapter .

For records purposes and the avoidance of doubt , the Executive Chairman of Bomadi Local Government Council, Hon Dagidi Rawlings Andaye , clearly dissociates self and his team , from any such act of pulling down posters and billboards of any candidate of any party .

It is reprehensible and libelous to tag a law abiding Chief Security Officer of a local government as a thug that is engaging in "this primitive act of lawlessness to destroy PDP candidates billboards", as well as "street urchin".

The Executive Chairman of Bomadi Local Government Council therefore advices Delta PDP to do due diligence check before rushing to the public space to malign law abiding public officers of Hon Dagidi Rawlings Andaye's status. Pls be guided
