Bomadi beat Isoko South to win Delta South qualifiers trophy of Sheriff Jnr Unity Cup, book place in main event

A second half 30th minute curling kick from the left flank by NO 19 Jersey , Festus Johnson , was all Bomadi LGA Football team needed , to emerge winners of the Delta South qualifying stage of the ongoing Sheriff Oborevwori Jnr Unification Cup , at the expense of hard fighting Isoko South FC.

The evenly matched energy sapping encounter which held at the football pitch of the Osubi Airport in Okpe Local Government area , on Saturday June 13 , 2026, truly loved up to its pre,-mstch billing , as both teams gave a good account of themselves with precision play and technical depth which drew thunderous applause from the enthusiastic supporters of both teams.

The tension filled encounter witnessed both sides making vital incursions into their opponent's territory with many goal chances missed , courtesy of both team goalkeepers superlative dives.

Bomadi Football Team goalkeeper, Alexander Felix , was especially in superb form , as he parried, dived and saved so many scoring chances from the rampaging Isoko South forwards.

The highpoint of the thrilling encounter was the presentation of the Delta South qualifiers trophy to the winners , Bomadi LGA Football team.

Isoko South came second as qualifiers, while Burutu came third after defeating Warri South West who came fourth.

In his remarks , the victorious Bomadi Team Head Coach , Okiki Musampa, hailed his team's focus, discipline , hard work and determination which they have thus far displayed with their fighting spirit.

He assured the people of Bomadi that the team remains united, confident and committed to achieving success , while acknowledging the support and encouragement of the Executive Chairman, Hon Dagidi Rawlings Andaye who has been a major source of motivation for the team.

With this victory , Bomadi local government , along with Isoko South , Burutu and Warri South West LGA Football teams , will now represent Delta South in the main event of the Sheriff Oborevwori Jnr Unification Cup 2026.

The Delta South qualifiers winners unbeaten run, included a 4-2 opening match win against Patani LGA Football team, and an emphatic 2-0 defeat of Burutu.
