Ekiyor, Former IYC President,Felicitates Pioneer President, Tuodolo, on Birth Anniversary

A former President of Ijaw Youth Council (IYC) worldwide and leading aspirant for the Bomadi/Patani Federal Constituency ticket under the APC, Dr. Chris Ekiyor, has felicitated IYC's pioneer president, Dr. Felix Tuodolo, on his birth anniversary on Sunday, May 3, 2026.
Ekiyor, also a one-time Hon. Commissioner for Commerce and Industries in Delta, described the IYC pioneer President as "a trailblazer , distinguished activist and pan Ijaw nation pride".
In his birthday felicitations message made available to the media , the frontrunner for the Bomadi/Patani Federal Constituency ticket for the 2027 general elections, said Tuodolo's pioneering role in championing the plight of the Ijaw nation when he was IYC pioneer President , kickstarted the process for what has now become "visible recognition of the ljaw nation in the national scheme of things".
Describing Dr. Tuodolo as a man of courage who stood for his people from the historic Kaiama Declaration to his unwavering commitment to the environmental and political rights of the Niger Delta, the one time IYC President stated that the leadership of the pioneer President has become a beacon for generations of youths.
As the pioneer President of IYC, Dr. Ekiyor said Tuodolor set the pace for intellectual and grassroots activism that gave the Ijaw nation a unified voice, describing him further as an intellectual advocate and mentor who inspired countless young leaders to step up and demand equity with dignity and resolve.
Recalling the pioneer IYC's leadership, which saw him serving as Commissioner for Ijaw Affairs in Bayelsa State, Dr. Ekiyor said Tuodolo has continued to advocate for the socio-economic development of the Ijaw nation, championing causes that bring about peace and unity to the region.
He emphasized the celebrant's bridge-building and advocacy for social justice for the Ijaw nation, likening it to a trail blazing disposition for accelerated development of his people .
Dr. Ekiyor said as the pioneer IYC President , Dr Tuodolo left a legacy and foundation of service and passion for the well being of the Ijaw nation, which successive Presidents like him found as reference points to build upon.
He therefore wished Tuodolo more fruitful years of good health and service to his people, as he continues to inspire the young generation of Ijaw sons and daughters, through his advocacy and string of successes recorded thus far .
