Funkekeme Pledges Support for DYTM for Grassroots Mobilization

The Senior Policy Adviser to the Delta State Governor and state coordinator of the Renewed Hope Ambassador, Rt. Hon. Funkekeme Solomon has pledged support for the Delta Youth Transformation Movement (DTYM) in Asaba, the state capital.
Hon. Funkekeme made the pledge when the Delta Transformation Movement paid him a courtesy visit and to celebrate his birthday, likewise formally introducing the group.
Speaking during the meeting, Hon. Funkekeme expressed appreciation for the visit and commended the group for organizing themselves to reform-oriented vision.
He said the change in mindset remains key to national development, adding that meaningful progress requires citizens to embrace reforms despite the challenges they may bring.
While making reference to the policies of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu administration, Funkekeme hinted that the ongoing reforms, including the removal of fuel subsidy at the onset of Tinubu's administration, demonstrate decisive leadership and readiness to address longstanding economic issues.
“Such policies may be difficult, but they are necessary for sustainable growth and national stability”, he said.
The policy adviser also commended the Delta State Governor Sheriff Oborevwori for ensuring continuity in governance and prioritizing infrastructure and security.
He said, "The ongoing projects across the state, particularly in Warri and its environs, reflect the administration’s commitment to development”.
He urged Nigerians to remain patient with the ongoing reforms, stressing that temporary hardships are often part of the process of achieving long-term benefits.
He also explained that the Renewed Hope Ambassadors play a crucial role in bridging the gap between government performance and public awareness.
While he assured DYTM of collaboration to ensure effective grassroots presence across wards in the state.
He said, “We are confident in your transformative vision. I encourage the group to sustain its engagement with youths and promote awareness of government policies."
Earlier, during his welcome address, the president of Delta Youth Transformation Movement, Mr. Isioma Melekwe Odozi, said the visit was both to celebrate his birthday and to familiarize the group and also seek collaboration in advancing grassroots mobilization efforts.
He noted that the movement was a network to inform and contribute to societal progress.
According to him, DYTM operates across all 25 local government areas of Delta State, with an additional structure accommodating non-indigenes, bringing its reach to 26 units.
“We believe we cannot remain passive; we have the capacity and responsibility to educate others and take the message of development and reform to the grassroots.”
