Okwuofu Charges DYTM On Grassroot Mobilization, E-Voter's Registration

The formal Chairman of Delta State Service Commission, popularly known as "Mother of Government", and grand patron for Delta Youth Transformation Movement (DYTM) Chief Nkem Kanke Okwuofu (Agunwanyi), on Monday charged the leadership of the group on the need to engage more on grassroot mobilization and also encouraged voters in their respective unit to come out in emmase for the ongoing electronic voter's registration.

Chief Okwuofu gave the charge in Asaba when the leadership and members of the Delta Youth Transformation Movement paid her a courtesy visit to reaffirm the group commitment to promoting youth initiatives, and strengthening grassroots engagement, by contributing positively to the growth and development of the State.

She commended  the group initiative of its remarkable progress, saying the group has demonstrated commitment by yielding to previously advised in their earlier engagement.

She also advised the leadership and members of the group to always approach issue with constructive minds.
She said " I encouraged members to embrace leadership with courage and responsibility, be constructive in your words and actions."

"I urged you to strengthen the grassroots presence by engaging local communities, promoting voter education, starting from polling units and neighbourhood structures."

She also advised the organization to intensify its social advocacy in addressing drug abuse and other social challenges affecting young people.

 According to her, "DYTM should utilize media campaigns, educational programmes, and community jingles in pigin English and local languages to promote responsible behaviour among youths."

Revealing earlier on the purpose of the visit,  the president who ably represented by the secretary general, Delta Youth Transformation Movement, Adm. Tola Ajemisogbe PhD, said the visit was to formally introduce the state executive and plans to inaugurate the state structure to strengthen organizational discipline and accountability.

He explained that the proposed inauguration align with the upcoming major political gathering in to formally showcase the group structure and readiness to contribute to the political and social development of the State.

He described the group as a mission-driven organization committed to empowering young people, socially, politically, and economically.

He added the group envisioned grooming responsible leaders that will promote civic awareness, and build generation of youths prepared to contribute meaningfully to governance and development across the state.

He also maintained that the group operates through a defined structured from local government, senatorial and to state.

He, however, commended her  for her warm reception, guidance, and unwavering support.
