Delta SUBEB Lifts Suspension of Education Secretary in Oshimili South

The Delta State Universal Basic Education Board (SUBEB) has lifted the three-month suspension earlier imposed on the Education Secretary of Oshimili South Local Government Education Authority (LGEA), Mrs. Appolonia Allanah Oputa-Otutu.

The decision takes effect from March 1, 2026.

The development was announced in a statement signed by the Executive Chairman of Delta SUBEB, Hon. Chief Samuel Mariere, who said the Board reviewed appeals from prominent stakeholders across the state before arriving at the decision.

According to Mariere, the suspension was lifted after “thoughtful consideration of all appeals from important personalities from across the state.”

He stated that with the lifting of the suspension, Mrs. Oputa-Otutu is to resume her duties with immediate effect from the approved date.

“The three-month suspension slammed on the Education Secretary for Oshimili South LGEA, Mrs. Appolonia Allanah Oputa-Otutu, has been lifted with effect from March 1, 2026,” the statement read.

The SUBEB Chairman further noted that “all rights and privileges attached to the office are by this announcement restored in full from the said date.”

While the statement did not provide details of the circumstances that led to the suspension, the Board expressed confidence in the decision, signaling a fresh start for the Education Secretary in the discharge of her responsibilities.

Mrs. Oputa-Otutu is expected to resume administrative oversight of education matters in Oshimili South LGEA following the reinstatement.
