Birth anniversary : You are a rare Anioma patriot, Izagbo lauds Ochei

The Executive Director , Planning and Design, Benin-Owena River Basin Development Authority and one time Commissioner in Delta State, Chief (Dr) Austin Izagbo, has described former Speaker of Delta State House of Assembly and current President of the Nigeria Tennis Federation, Rt Hon Engr Victor Ochei, Esq, as "a rare Anioma patriot".

Chief Izagbo added that Rt Hon Ochei has consistently demonstrated strong passion for excellence in any position of leadership he has attained.

In his birthday felicitations to Ochei , the Olikaeze of Onicha Olona in Aniocha North, the one time President General of Igbuzo Development Union ( IDU) Worldwide , noted with nostalgia , the sweeping reforms made by Ochei during his stint as Speaker of Delta State House of Assembly , which today has given birth to the aesthetics of the Complex which is unarguably the best in the country.

Describing the President of the Nigeria Tennis Federation ( NTF) as a thoroughbred politician with an enviable track record of service to his Aniocha North people while representing them, the Benin Owena River Basin Development Authority Executive Director of Planning and Design , stated that as a corporate Czar, Ochei's Davnotch has in no small way, impacted on the socio-economic landscape, by giving employment to hundreds of individuals with the multiplier effect on their families and the economy.

The one time Delta State Commissioner during the Kefas administration, emphasized that as a leader in the All Progressives Congress ( APC), Rt Hon Victor Ochei has left no one in doubt as to his loyalty and disposition towards party hierarchy and the betterment of members within his purview.

Also recalling Ochei's stint as Executive Director Cabbotage and Legal Services at the Nigeria Maritime and Safety Administration ( NIMASA), Izagbo stated that the former Speaker distinguished himself as an administrator per excellence, while driving improved internally generated revenue for the country.

Said Izagbo : "On behalf of my family and associates, l heartily felicitate a dear brother , friend , and political associates, Rt Hon Engr Victor Onyekachi Ochei, as he marks his birth anniversary today Wednesday February 25th , 2026. Mr Speaker emeritus is a seasoned administrator , a symbol of true values and a man imbued with the spirit of empathy. His stint as Speaker of the Delta State House of Assembly , is unrivalled till date. The Assembly complex you see today bears the full imprint of Ochei. His representation of the good people of Aniocha North is a testimony of vibrant leadership in areas of education, health, human capital development , just name it. He has also built a multi million naira Donald Ochei Stadium in his hometown where he has been single handedly sponsoring the annual Olona Unity Cup tournament for the past six years. There is so much to say about this visionary leader but l will cap it up by saying "he is an icon, a rare breed of an Anioma son".

Chief Izagbo therefore prayed God to grant Rt Hon Victor Ochei more grace, robust health , and longevity, in order to continue impacting on society and blazing the trail in good leadership and empathy for the downtrodden.

DOU to graduate 416 students, records 25 first class , set for maiden convocation
