“We Are Proud of Our Daughter”: Obomkpa Community Honours Hon Queen Ndubuokwu

A Young Female Politician and Supervisory Councilor for Environment, Aniocha North Local Government Area of Delta State, Hon Queen Ukamaka  Ndubuokwu was at the weekend honoured with an award by the Asaba branch of Obomkpa Progressive Union (OPU).

The ceremony was a memorable and emotional moment for the former Councilor who represented Ward 3 Obomkpa in Aniocha North Legislative Arm, as she received the accolade for her outstanding contributions to the political and socio‑economic development of the Obomkpa community.

“This recognition award is to celebrate you, Hon Queen Ukamaka Ndubuokwu for your outstanding contributions to the political advancement and socio‑economic development of Obomkpa community”.
The OPU noted that the awardee’s exemplary leadership, dedication and service have brought honour and notable progress to the people of Obomkpa while inspiring younger generations.

The Union congratulated Hon Ndubuokwu for the recognition and charged her to remain focused and committed to achieving greater progress for the Obomkpa community and the society at large.

In her reaction,  Ndubuokwu expressed profound joy and gratitude to God for the grace, favour, protection and guidance she has received throughout her life’s journey. 

“This award is a significant milestone in my life. I am elated that the recognition is coming from my place of birth, Obomkpa, my ‘Obocity,’ my small London, my home, my pride” she said 
Hon Ndubuokwu expressed sincere appreciation to the good people of the Obomkpa Progressive Union who have deemed it fit to recognize their daughter for her outstanding contributions to the political advancement and socio‑economic development of Obomkpa. 

“With this award, Obomkpa, which I call ‘Obocity,’ my small London, my home, my pride, has asked for more from their daughter, and I pray that God Almighty strengthens me and opens more doors. I pray for God’s unity and oneness to keep us going stronger and better as a home”, she added.

Ndubuokwu thanked the leaders and members of OPU, her family, friends, political leaders and supporters for their physical, financial and spiritual backing. 

She commended the youths of Obomkpa for their focus, acknowledging their sustained support and readiness to stand by her whenever called upon, and pledged never to take their loyalty for granted.
She also paid tribute to her traditional ruler, Obi Kanyinaga Onyemaechi Josiah, the Obi of Obomkpa Kingdom, for his royal blessings, prayers and fatherly guidance. 

Reaffirming her commitment to serve Obomkpa with diligence and humility, Ndubuokwu expressed hope that the bond of peace and oneness in the community would continue to flourish.
