Urhobo Catholic Community Honors Augustine Akanigha With Service Award

The Urhobo Catholic Community of St. John Mary Vianney Catholic Church, Asaba, recently honored Mr. Augustine Akpovwonvwon Akanigha with a Service Award, recognizing his dedication and contributions to the community.

In a letter of appreciation addressed to the Chairman, Mr. James Akpobi, and members of the Urhobo Catholic Community, Mr. Akanigha expressed his profound gratitude for the prestigious award.

The award, presented to Mr. Akanigha, acknowledges his significant contributions as a founding Exco member of the community.

In his letter, Mr. Akanigha accepted the honor as a call to further service, pledging to dedicate his time and energy to the work of God and the church. He emphasized his commitment to the community's development and progress.

The Urhobo Catholic Community recently celebrated its maiden Urhobo Cultural Day, a historic event for the community and the entire Issele-Uku Diocese.

Mr. Akanigha highlighted the successful celebration, including the welcoming of the Bishop of Warri Diocese, His Lordship Most Rev. Dr. Anthony Ovayero Ewherido, to Asaba, marking the Bishop's first visit since his ordination.

This event showcased the community's readiness to lead the Urhobo community within the Issele-Uku Diocese. Mr. Akanigha also extended his appreciation to Chairman Mr. James Akpobi and members of the community for Congratulating him on his recent appointment as the Secretary of Urhobo National Catholic Community of Nigeria, Issele-Uku Diocese.
