Andaye Joins Manager, Safugha, Others, Bid Pa Lucky Barbar Farewell At Bomadi

Executive Chairman of Bomadi Local Government Council, Hon Dagidi Rawlings Andaye, on Saturday December 6, 2025, joined immediate past Senator representing Delta South , Senator James Ebiowou Manager , one time Commissioner for Energy , Hon New World Safugha, and a host of other political leaders and community stakeholders, to attend the burial ceremony of Late Chief Lucky Barbar, JP.

Pa Barbar was the father of Supervisor for Education, Youths and Sports Development of Bomadi Local Government Council, Hon Ekiyor Barbar.

In his tribute at the burial ceremony which held at Olou Primary School, Bomadi, Hon Andaye described the departed elder Barbar , as a distinguished statesman whose life embodied honour , sacrifice , and selfless leadership.

The Bomadi Council Boss, noted that the departed patriarch,s contributions to community development and social harmony , remain invaluable , stressing that Pa Barbar,s legacy should continue to guide present and future leaders in their service to society .

While extending his heartfelt condolences to the Barbar family , particularly his Supervisor for Education, Youths and Sports Development , Hon Ekiyor Barbar, Hob Dagidi Andaye encouraged them to take solace in the profound impact and noble reputation left behind by their patriarch.

The ceremony climaxed with solemn prayers and traditional rites , reaffirming a collective commitment to upholding the values of integrity , service , and unity as exemplified by the late Chief Barbar .

DOU to graduate 416 students, records 25 first class , set for maiden convocation

By Andy Emephia A total of 416 candidates drawn from 28 programmes in the Faculties of Agriculture , Arts , Behavioural Sciences, Computing , Environmental Sciences , Management Sciences and Sciences, will participate in the maiden convocation of the Dennis Osadebay University ( DOU) , Asaba , on Saturday 7th March , 2026. Of this number , 25 persons bagged First Class Honours , 167 Second Class Honours ( Upper Division), 185 Second Class Lower Division, and 39 Third Class Degrees, respectively  .
