Amori Hails UPU PG, Owe, On Reelection, Tasks Urhobo To Rally Round Him

The Chief Adviser to Delta State Governor and Otota of Mosogar Kingdom, Chief Ighoyota Amori, JP, has described the reelection of the Urhobo Progress Union (UPU) President-General, Chief Ese Gam Owe, as a demonstration of outstanding leadership over the past four years in the saddle.

Amori, in a congratulatory statement on Saturday, December 6, 2025, noted that once again, the Urhobo nation has demonstrated unity, maturity, and collective purpose in choosing continuity.

Chief (Barr) Ese Gam Owe had, in a peaceful and transparent election on Friday at the Urhobo House, Uvwiamuge, Ughelli North LGA, polled 432 votes to defeat his closest and only rival, Chief Simeon Ohwofa, who polled a distant 178 votes

Amori, while noting that Chief Owe's first tenure witnessed visible progress in UPU and strengthened the bond among Urhobo sons and daughters, both at home and in the diaspora, said the newly elected President-General has demonstrated commitment, humility , and a deep passion for the advancement of Urhobo interests.

Senator Amori also extended his warm congratulations to all other newly elected Executives of the UPU, expressing confidence that this new team will support the President-General to achieve even greater success in the next four years of their term in office..

While advocating for unity from all sides, especially from those who contested the elections or have significant interest in UPU affairs, the Chief Adviser to the Governor said the time for competition is over and the time for collective service has begun .

Said Amori, "UPU belongs to all of us. Election is only a process. Now that the process is completed, what our people need is unity, understanding, and the spirit of brotherhood. We must work together to move the Urhobo Nation forward.

He therefore urged all well-meaning Urhobo sons and daughters, both at home and in the diaspora, to join hands with Barr. Ese Gam Owe to build a stronger Urhobo Nation, stressing that progress comes when leaders and followers work together with one voice.
