Uviejitobor Hopeful Of Surpassing Ministry Revenue Target In 2026 Fiscal Year

The Delta State Commissioner, Ministry of Oil and Gas, Hon. Peter Uviejitobor, has expressed confidence that the ministry will surpass its revenue in the 2026 fiscal year.

Addressing newsmen at the state secretariat immediately after his inter-ministry defense with his team of delegation in Asaba, he described the 2026 proposed budget as a “budget of inclusiveness,” with all stakeholders in the Ministry of Oil and Gas fully involved in the drafting.

He said, "The 2026 budget of inclusiveness, is going to be fantastic because all stakeholders are involved, and our responsibility is mediation, and by the effort of the directors and staff, we have retained the number one oil-producing state in the country.”

"The ministry is a mediatory agency, responsible for managing relationships between host communities and oil companies, and has performed diligently, helping Delta maintain its position as Nigeria’s number one oil-producing state."

Speaking on the outgoing year's performance, Uviejetobor said the ministry has recorded outstanding revenue performance and achieved nearly three times its projected revenue.

He, however, expressed confidence that the ministry would surpass its revenue targets again in 2026 while appealing to the state Government for utilities support to enhance revenue collection, especially in riverine communities where most oil and gas companies are located.
