Ministry Of Environment Vows To Promote Green Initiative

In line with the state Governor's MORE Agenda, the Delta State Ministry of Environment, has said it will continue to promote green initiatives and improve sustainable environmental sanitation across the state.

The Commissioner for Ministry of Environment, Mr. Ejiro Jamani also said the ministry aimed at improving environmental protection and flood management 

Jamani noted that the 2026 budget plan focuses on practical interventions to reduce flooding, improve sanitation, and promote green initiatives.

He said, “Our projects for 2026 are geared towards desilting drains, clearing  water channels, managing waste effectively, and carrying out massive tree planting across the state."

The Commissioner noted that despite financial constraints, the ministry has achieved significant progress in 2025, particularly in flood mitigation efforts.

He commended the state government for the support during the ministry's extensive drainage opening and desilting exercises across flood-prone areas, especially in urban and riverine communities.
