Andaye Joins Bayelsa Governor Diri, Other ljaw Sons, To Pay Last Respects To Mama Finikeme

The Executive Chairman of Bomadi local government Council, Hon Dagidi Rawlings Andaye, and his wife Hon ( Mrs) Rejoice Andaye, joined Bayelsa State Governor, Senator Douye Diri , and other respected Ijaw sons, to pay final respects to Late Mama Ogulagha-Ere Egberiwaribo Finikeme ( nee Esime) at Ayamasa in Ekeremor local government area of Bayelsa State



Late Mama Finikeme was the beloved mother of Amb ( Chief) Lucky Youbogha, a close political associate and trusted ally of Hon Dagidi Andaye.


The burial ceremony which held on Friday November 28th, 2025, was well attended by traditional rulers , political leaders , community elders and other prominent sons and daughters of Ijaw land who gathered in solidarity, to honour a life defined by dignity , STRENGHT and deep family values.

In his heartfelt tribute to the departed matriarch , the Bomadi Council Chairman and Delta ALGON Secretary , described Mama Finikeme as "a woman whose legacy of unity , guidance, and integrity , will continue to resonate through her children and the wider society".

Andaye also conveyed his sincere condolences to his political ally , Amb ( Chief) Youbogha and the entire Finikeme family on the passing of their matriarch, urging them to be comforted in the worthy and impactful life she lived .


The solemn occasion which offered the Bomadi Council Boss the opportunity to exchange warm courtesies with His Excellency , Senator Douye Diri, Governor of Bayelsa State, alongside other respected Ijaw sons , further reflected the spirit of unity and shared commitment to the advancement of the Ijaw nation .

Highpoint of the burial ceremony of Mama Finikeme, was the offering of prayers for the peaceful repose of her soul, thus bringing the burial ceremony to a dignified close .

DOU to graduate 416 students, records 25 first class , set for maiden convocation

By Andy Emephia A total of 416 candidates drawn from 28 programmes in the Faculties of Agriculture , Arts , Behavioural Sciences, Computing , Environmental Sciences , Management Sciences and Sciences, will participate in the maiden convocation of the Dennis Osadebay University ( DOU) , Asaba , on Saturday 7th March , 2026. Of this number , 25 persons bagged First Class Honours , 167 Second Class Honours ( Upper Division), 185 Second Class Lower Division, and 39 Third Class Degrees, respectively  .
