Jaro Egbo Unveils Mathematics Competition For Junior Secondary Schools ln Ughelli North

In a move to encourage academic excellence and promote intellectual development among students, the Executive Chairman of Ughelli North Local Government Area, Olorogun Jaro Egbo, has unveiled the *Olorogun Jaro Egbo Mathematics Competition for Junior Secondary* Schools within the Local Government.

The unveiling took place in his office at the Ughelli North Council Secretariat, where the council boss restated his administration’s commitment to raising the standard of education at the grassroots level in line with the MORE Agenda of Governor Sheriff Oborevwori.

Speaking during the brief unveiling, Olorogun Egbo said the competition is part of efforts to identify and nurture young mathematical talents who will grow to become innovative thinkers and problem-solvers.

“Education remains a key pillar of development, and mathematics is central to building future scientists, engineers, and innovators,” he said. “Through this competition, we are giving our students a platform to showcase their skills and rekindle their interest in learning. This is our own way of supporting the Governor’s MORE Agenda, which focuses on meaningful development and creating opportunities for all.”

Olorogun Jaro Egbo Ksc directed all public and private Junior Secondary Schools in Ughelli North to begin collecting registration forms starting Monday, adding that the registration window will remain open until November 25, 2025.

The competition, according to him, will run through several stages before culminating in a grand finale, where outstanding students will be recognized and rewarded for their brilliance and hard work.

The initiative, powered by Hon. Ese Agbobore, is expected to stimulate healthy competition among schools, enhance students’ academic performance and reawaken interest in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) subjects across the Local Government.
