The Conference Chairman, Rt Hon Emomotimi Dennis Guwor in a statement, expressed deep concern over the tragic loss of lives, mass displacement, and emotional trauma inflicted on citizens by the escalating violence. DSIRS Extends Deadline for Filing Individual Tax Returns to April 14

By Admin Delta State Internal Revenue Service (DSIRS) has announced a two-week extension for the filing of individual annual income tax returns, shifting the deadline from today, March 31 to April 14, 2026. In a press statement signed by the Executive Chairman of the Board, Hon Solomon Ighrakpata, the agency said the extension is aimed at giving taxpayers additional time to comply accurately with their obligations. “It is hereby announced for the information of the general public, particularly taxable persons including employees, that the Delta State Internal Revenue Service has extended the deadline for filing of individual annual tax returns by two weeks from April 1 to April 14, 2026,” the statement read. Delta NUJ Urges Oborewvori To Appoint Permanent Secretaries

By Admin  The Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Delta State Council, has appealed to Delta State Governor Sheriff Oborevwori to expedite the appointment of substantive Permanent Secretaries in the state civil service. The state NUJ council stated this in a statement signed by the council chairman, Comrade Churchill Oyowe, and Acting Secretary Josephine Omodior. The NUJ council in the statement commended the state Governor for improving civil servants' welfare, including implementation of the N70,000 minimum wage and paying N5.5 billion in promotion arrears. The council, however, noted that many ministries, departments, and agencies are being overseen by officials in acting capacity, creating uncertainty among senior civil servants.
